Create Your Own Chat Room on Matrix Messenger

Your Personal Group Chat Room

Select 'Create/Edit My Room' from the 'Action' menu on the main friends list window.

This area lets you create and manage your own chat room.

If you have not yet set up your own chat room, this area will give you easy access to set up your chat room.

Create your own chat room

As the chat room 'admin' you can control your own chat room.

Step 1

Choose room name.

Step 2

Choose a category and sub-category.

Step 3

Choose a rating.

Step 4

You can type a custom welcome message that displays to all of your chat room visitors or leave it default.

Step 5

Type an Admin Code, this code will be given to your chat room admins if you choose to have any.

Step 6

You can type a Lock Code if you wish to have a private chat room and not allow anyone to enter or allow only users who have the code.

Step 7

Choose from the dropdown under Admin List or Super Admin List which friend you want to add as an Admin or Super Admin. They must be on your friends list to be added as Admin or Super Admin.

Step 8

Click the Create/Save My Changes button once finished filling everything out.

Once your chat room has been created

If your chat room has been created, a confirmation box will appear confirming that it has.

You can join your own chat room from the 'Action' menu on the friends list and pressing the 'Open My Room' button.

If you wish to make changes to your chat room press the 'Action' menu then go to 'Create/Edit My Room' again.
